Yeah... This fits. » Sat, Jul 2nd 2005 1:08 pm
Surprise. Well, if you’ve been here before I’m sure you’re at least somewhat surprised. Or confused. Regardless, you noticed a change, I’m sure.
This design’s more Aaron-centric. The old one was “ok”, but really said nothing about me or the site. This one’s spot-on. Pictures scattered about, notebooks, pen scratches, tape, and stray keyboard keys. Ah. I’m home.
The footer is basically a Photoshopped version of my bedroom door. Closed—as always—to block the sunlight.
Browsing the galleries should be easier now, too. You can see more on a page than before, and just hover your mouse over the pictures to read their blurbs before clicking for the enlarged view.
Another “feature” I’ve added is the comment subscription option. Just check the box while you leave a comment and you’ll be notified via e-mail (assuming you leave a real e-mail address) when someone else leaves a comment on that item. To unsubscribe, click the “unsubscribe” link in the notification e-mails. I’ve been meaning to add this functionality for a while, and figured I’d add it for version three.
So, what do y’all think? I want brutal honesty; that’s the best kind.

Yeah, I think Chris has got it right. Out of all of the personal portfolio/blog sites I’ve seen this, by far, takes the cake. I’m taking a Web design program at Fleming College and I know how much effort, work and time goes into making a good Web site. But this, this is beyond me. Amazing job.

Yeah, it was no cake walk. Thankfully at lot of the routine backend stuff was recycled from the old version, but touched up a bit for PHP5 and then some more for my own anal reasons. The design itself was started in Photoshop about two weeks ago I think. Sort of hammered through it since then and just aimed at getting it done. If only I could do that all the time…

Just noticed that theres no “Live Counter”. That was a pritty cool feature… Couldn’t you have squeezed it in somewhere?

Wow this is an amazing website, I loved the last design so much, and now this one just adds on to my love for this site. Great work!
